Science Leaders Visit Plant and Food Research in Clyde.

Last Wednesday, 18th May, 15 of our Year 5 and 6 science leaders visited Plant and Food Research. They learnt about the work carried out by scientists, and to find out what Sharon has been up to in Terms 1 and 2 this year as part of her STLP (Scienec Teaching Leadership Programme). They were accompanied by teachers Robyn (Pod 6) and David (Pod 7) as well as two fantastic parents. Everyone learnt lots about science, scientists and orchard management and asked some fabulous questions.

Have a look at this slideshow to see what we experienced.

  1. We loved having you all visit us. We hoped you enjoyed it and that some of you will become scientists yourselves one day!

  2. Your video gives a great summary of what you saw on the day. Looks like you learned lots of different things about the science of growing fruit crops. I am a soil scientist so I loved that they showed you how the soil differs as lots of people forget to look below the ground to see what is going on down there. I hope you enjoyed your trip :-) I have kids at Springston School and funnily enough they came to visit our workplace at Lincoln last week. You might like to check out the photos that they took on their trip. Google Springston Sonic and you should find them :-)
